Sneak Peek: Toyota Furia Concept

Toyota has released a video previewing a new four-door sedan concept car that’ll be debuting at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Dubbed the Toyota Furia Concept, the four-door may very well be our first official preview of the next-gen 2014 Corolla.

The short teaser video gives us snippets of what we can expect to see when Toyota pulls the wraps off the Furia Concept next month in Detroit. For starters, the Furia (not to be confused with Mazda’s Furai concept of 2007) will be very, very orange. Aside from the paint, the Furia will be trimmed in carbon fiber, sport four doors, LED lights, a sporty beltline, and what looks to be scoops of some-sort. Other touches look to be a new take on Toyota’s corporate grille, and large alloy wheels.
Though Toyota doesn’t provide much information regarding the Furia Concept, its design could hint at that of the 2014 Toyota Corolla, which should go on sale late next year. Not much is known about the 2014 Corolla’s powertrain, but given the automaker’s latest trend on recycling engines and transmissions, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the 1.8-liter I-4 carry over with a pair of new transmissions.
